The Emblazoned Soul - A Literary Review will begin accepting submissions for its next online publication soon! Submissions open January 1st, and will close March 1st at 11:59pm EST. Our Spring 2023 publication will be published April 15th, 2023.
HEART ON FIRE / Spring 2023 Issue Love is a relative term, and there are so many things which light a fire within our souls, within the realms of love. Pain, heartache, passion, carnality, and all of the emotions we often experience - write about it all! Poetry, prose, photography, and short stories welcome. *pornographic or X-rated material will not be accepted* Please follow all formatting guidelines below -- |
- Ensure ALL submitted work is ORIGINAL, and authored or created by the party making the submission.
- Writers retain full rights to their submitted work after publication. This is a place to display work, and we take no ownership of such.
- While simultaneous submissions are allowed and encouraged, please notify us as soon as possible if a submitted work has been accepted elsewhere.
- All submitted work should be formatted accordingly:
- Poems should be single-spaced, 12pt font, Times New Roman, or similar. (.doc, .docx)
- Prose and short stories should be double-spaced, 12pt font, Times New Roman or similar. (.doc, .docx)
- Photography and art should be high resolution, and submitted in .jpg format.
- Poetry submissions are to be no more than 8 pages in total, and no more than 4 poems.
- Prose submissions are to be no more than 1000 words in total, and no more than 1 piece per submission, and no more than 2 submissions in total.
- Short stories should be no more than 2000 words in total, and no more than 1 piece per submission, and no more than 2 submissions in total.
- Creators are eligible, and encouraged to submit for each publication throughout the year, so long as the work aligns with the posted theme.
- No matter the submission, please include an author bio (include personal or professional website, or social media links, if desired), and a cover letter is optional. We love getting to know authors!
- Please ensure all submitted pieces are polished, edited, and ready for publication, if accepted. Review your work for spelling, grammar errors, syntax, punctuation, etc.
- Submit all parts in one document, please!
